SESAP
For more than 45 years, the Surgical Education and Self-Assessment Program (SESAP®) has been a premier educational resource for practising surgeons. The American College of Surgeons (ACS) Division of Education developed the 18th edition of SESAP in a commitment to lifelong learning to help surgeons acquire and apply new knowledge and reaffirm existing knowledge in a commitment to lifelong learning.
SESAP 18 consists of 665 newly constructed, case-based, multiple-choice questions. Concise critiques provide evidence-based explanations addressing all the answer choices, as well as supporting references from the current literature. The questions address the major content areas of general surgery.
The best pricing option is the resident member price.
For example, resident membership in the American College of Surgeons is $20, so the cost of a “NonCME All Categories with Print” package for a resident member is ($300 + $20 = $320) vs. $408 for a resident non-member.
(Print packages of SESAP 18 for subscribers with an international address will incur a fee of $70 to cover shipping and handling charges. Web-only packages are not affected.)
The following page contains information on how to apply for a resident membership:

Advanced modules are now available. SESAP 18 Advanced modules build on SESAP 18 content and specifically focus on advanced clinical problems involving specialized and nuanced content within complex and emerging topics. The format and features are similar to SESAP 18, with the addition of special sections entitled “Controversies” that have no single correct answer. The “Controversy Items” provide comparisons with peer responses, and the critiques discuss each response option. Released in 2023, the SESAP 18 Advanced modules include 332 case-based questions across seven modules including abdomen; alimentary tract; breast; endocrine; melanoma, skin, sarcoma; surgical critical care; and trauma and emergency general surgery.
Details are available at this link: https://www.facs.org/sesapadvanced.
Please notice: it typically takes at least a month for packages to arrive in Switzerland.
